Our Business
Wealth Management Mortgage Operations supports the J.P. Morgan Private Bank within J.P. Morgan?s Asset and Wealth Management line of business. The Private Bank is the world?s premier service provider for ultra and high net worth individuals. Our goal is to help these affluent individuals across the globe optimize their wealth, after taxes and across generations. Wealth Management Operations provides end-to-end support for all aspects of the client experience, working closely with client service, fiduciary, product specialty groups, third party vendors and other internal groups.
Mortgage Operations provides end to end mortgage origination in all 50 states for Private Banking clients with unique needs. Our loans are generally complex transactions due to the financial diversity and sophistication of the client base. Our clients expect the highest levels of quality service throughout the process, resulting in an exceptional client experience.
The Operations Risk Analyst (ORA) will provide Risk and Control support to the Private Bank Lending Centers. The primary focus will be to support the risk and control efforts across the mortgage space with a strong knowledge of regulatory compliance. This will include not only business as usual risk mitigation but also key initiatives related to improving controls or implementing new regulations.
The ORA must have strong analytical skills and communication skills (verbal and written). They will need to work effectively in a team environment and must be able to adapt to a rapidly changing business and technological environment. They must be able to work on multiple tasks simultaneously and have strong organizational skills that enable them to prioritize their work accordingly.
Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:
+ Manage operations risk projects within aligned functions; assess business risks and work with the Operations teams to ensure adequate detective and preventative controls are in place to mitigate risk.
+ Work with Operations Risk Managers in significant efforts including but not limited to: audit management and information gathering, analyzing and validating lending documentation and processes, and oversight of risk projects.
+ Represent Risk as subject matter expert on cross-functional operational risk initiatives/projects.
+ Manage or participate in various stages of the Risk Controlled Self Assessments (RCSAs) cycle, including performing control tests and validating test strategies.
+ Manage and report status for internal compliance reviews and internal audits.
+ Manage tasks related to Action Plans including analyzing solutions, proposing plan description, oversee plan tasks, validate work, and manage approvals and closure.
+ Engage in root cause analysis and work with the appropriate groups to recommend controls and solutions when researching risk events, operational processes, and new regulatory initiatives. Manage risk events and risk action items to closure.
+ Validate compliance of action plans, audit findings, and new regulatory initiatives.
+ Create, support, and manage various regulatory and risk reports.
+ Facilitate meetings, prepare documentation and minutes.
+ Effectively communicate with all levels of management and work across business lines.
+ 2+ years? experience in Operations Risk or Compliance related role.
+ 5+ years mortgage origination experience.
+ Knowledge of Federal and State Regulations as they pertain to lending
+ Strong analytical and problem solving skills
+ In-depth understanding of origination processes and systems
+ In-depth knowledge of risk management techniques from both a detection as well as mitigation perspective.
+ Strong organizational and time management skills, including prioritization
+ Results oriented - execute tasks and initiatives effectively and efficiently
+ Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
+ Proficient in Microsoft office suite products
+ Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills. Comfortable interacting with senior management.
Education
B.S. degree or equivalent work experience

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
